The Graceland Inn
A $25 Graceland Inn Certificates For Only $12.50!
The Graceland Inn (Circa 1892)
The mansion was the summer home of Henry Gassaway Davis, a United States Senator (1871-1883), and an unsuccessful Democratic candidate for Vice President of the United States.
Graceland, built by Henry Gassaway Davis and his wife, was completed in 1893. Graceland was designed by the renowned architectural firm of Baldwin and Pennington of Baltimore, MD. The farm on which the Inn was built originally consisted of approximately 360 acres. The exterior of the building is constructed of native sandstone in the Queen Anne style of architecture. The interior is decorated in native hardwoods, notably quartered oak, bird's eye maple, cherry and walnut.
Poised on the hillside of the beautiful campus of Davis and Elkins College, The Graceland Inn provides a twenty-mile view of the scenic mountains.
Graceland Restaurant provides guests with an intimate dining experience in Graceland's original red-oak dining room. The dining room extends into a glass conservatory that overlooks the town. During the summer months, guests are served on the veranda adjacent to the conservatory. The menu features Regional, American, and Continental cuisine planned by executive chef Tim White.
The Graceland Inn offers catering services on a broad scale from private parties for ten people to elaborate weddings for 300 people. The Graceland Inn will customize the menu to your specifications or you can choose menus by contacting Chef Melanie Campbell at 304-637-1600.
